Oil Painting Care
Congratulations! You're now the owner of one of my original paintings! Question is, how can you care for it so it remains beautiful?
Though the oil is dry to the touch, oil paintings continue to cure for years. Because of this you never want to frame oil paintings behind glass. There are “floating frames” that you can use for mounting that will show the entire image, or you can also just put them in a ready-made photo frame with the glass removed. Most of my work is done on standard sized panels and frames abound that they will fit in.
Your painting has been protected with a removable varnish. Should it ever get any stains on it, or you notice it get affected by grease, smoke, or other contaminants, you can easily clean the varnish (and stains) off. Just look up “Gamvar” for instructions or contact me!
Please continue to browse for more available art for you to take home, but also keep me in mind if you want something commissioned.
Enjoy!
Denise
